Bressanone is ready to welcome students and educators for the Summer School of the EU-funded Jean Monnet project European Values and Migration (EUAMI), which will run from June 29 to July 4, 2025. The event promises a week of reflection, exchange, and hands-on learning about the role of European values in the context of migration.

Led by the University of Padua, the initiative brings together a vibrant network of six educational institutions: high schools from Bulgaria (Emilian Stanev SU), Italy (Istituto E. Fermi and Canossa Campus), Poland (Zespół Szkół Administracyjno-Ekonomicznych), and Spain (Sant Josep Obrer), as well as Euractiv Italia, a leading media outlet on EU affairs, and CesUe research centre as co-organizer.

The Summer School’s rich program kicks off with a welcome address by Prof. Matteo Bassoli (University of Padua), who will guide participants through introductory sessions on political participation. Throughout the week, students will attend expert-led lectures and interactive labs, including Paolo Graziano’s talk on the importance of Europe and Francesco Spera’s insights on the New Pact on Migration and Asylum.

Workshops will explore key issues such as lobbying, the framing of European immigration, and the role of young Europeans in shaping the future, thanks to the participation of external experts from youth civil society associations and NGOs.

A special panel on July 3 will host Members of the European Parliament from across the political spectrum – Herbert Dorfmann (EPP), Alessandra Moretti (S&D), and Leoluca Orlando (Greens) – to discuss EU migration policies and future prospects.

Cultural visits, hiking, and evening socials will complement the academic content, creating an immersive European experience in the heart of South Tyrol. With its focus on values, diversity, and civic engagement, EUAMI offers students a unique opportunity to connect across borders and reflect on Europe’s shared challenges and hopes.
